Canteen is a little shop in Ashford dedicated to fresh exciting food. At canteen we like to show the love! What we mean by this is our passion and commitment to producing great tasting food, coffee and juice. From our Moroccan couscous to our pastrami NY deli sandwich it’s all made by us using fresh, imaginative ingredients and a little bit of canteen love. Enjoy!

We have a commitment to using biodegradable packaging. All of our salad containers are made from bio-ware plastics and our sandwich boxes are recycled card. We are actively seeking ways to recycle the bits that are not and where possible we use local suppliers which helps reduce carbon emissions.

At canteen we have lots of healthy options and a great range of hand made food which means we know exactly what goes into it! Great, fresh ingredients with no hidden extras. If you are what you eat, love yourself, love Canteen.
Kitchen
We have already told you that our food is made using fresh ingredients and that little bit of Canteen love but what does it all go to produce? We have a great range of sandwiches, toasted sandwiches and bagels, fresh breakfast pastries and our very own brunch beans are not to be missed. Our chefs create a main hot dish every day which can be eaten in or taken away, from Chilli to fragrant Thai broth. We bake our own pies, make a great range of fresh salads, pasta, couscous and deli goods. Our friends at Lizzie’s make all our lovely cakes and slices so there is plenty of sweet stuff to go with your coffee.
At Canteen we are committed to making great food at affordable prices so that your breakfast or lunch need never be dull again. Where possible we make all of our food in our kitchen. This way we can ensure that only the best ingredients go into everything we do from our sandwiches or a Canteen pie. Have a look at our menu. Enjoy!
Drinks
At Canteen you will be pleased to know we take just as much care over our coffee as our food. Our espresso blend is 100% Arabica beans which are locally roasted by the Pluckley Tea Co. and ground to order delivering a velvety smooth shot. We have a wide range of teas from Breakfast to Earl Grey and make a great hot chocolate. We use real chocolate, milk or dark, and heat this with milk finished off with lots of whipped cream, marshmallows sprinkles!
Modular Eats
We created a range of small dishes that can be eaten as a small snack on their own or together to make a mini picnic. These are tasty little pots of olives, couscous, small salads etc, that can be put together in combinations to create a different meal every time. You can choose a little, as a snack or to accompany for example a sandwich or choose many to create a meal of unlimited flavour. The beauty is in the choice. We can then package it up for you to take away or plate it up to eat in. Order four and we will throw in the bread! We have created some menu ideas for you to try out. Enjoy!
