Fruit Ninja
Overview
This was special! The original Fruit Ninja website was the start of my website building career really, so to have the chance to do a new refreshed design after a year and a half of further experience was an absolutely great opportunity!
The purpose of the rebuild was more than a simple facelift; the fruit ninja brand has really expanded over the last 18 months, so the website needed to act as a portal to all the different variations of the game, both delivering the information and the means for the visitor to be able to download the version of the game they wanted.
With such great material to work with, it is always a joy creating elements to fit within the Fruit Ninja world. The wooden jQuery powered accordion on the website was a lot of fun to both design and build.
This project was a great challenge, but ultimately one of the most satisfying I've been involved with!
Client Feedback
(from original fruit ninja website)
" When Rob initially contacted us expressing an interest in developing a new Fruit Ninja site, our interest was piqued based off the quality of his portfolio.
There was an obvious element of skepticism in our minds: someone we have never heard of is coming to us and offering their services for free. However Rob’s timely and professional nature instantly dissolved any initial doubts we may have had.
Several iterations were completed before the final product was delivered. Rob turned work around extremely quickly, and always communicated clearly and concisely with us regarding the nature of the changes. The final product was delivered ahead of time and we are thrilled with the final result.
It’s hard to believe that Rob is (was) a student, as our experience in working with him has surpassed that of most paid professionals we have dealt with in the past. I cannot commend his ability, work ethic and communication skills highly enough."

Breaktime Studios
Overview
It's always exciting when a new company gets in contact, especially when they show you some early game screenshots that scream quality! Breaktime Studios was one such company.
With very character driven games, and a real sense of style to these characters, it was only right that we injected this into the web design as well. This was a really fun project to both design and build.
The website itself is all driven by Wordpress and is totally updatable by Breaktime Studios themselves.
I'm really looking forward to what Breaktime Studios are going to be bring to the app store in the coming year as I think they're someone that'll become quite well known as time goes on!

Zombie Life
Overview
Zombie Farm was one of my early websites so it was great to have an opportunity to work on a spin-off game called Zombie Life.
For the website we wanted to keep a similar feel so it was part of the same online world, but also we wanted to push the social networking aspects a bit more.
I love seeing how the Zombie world is growing, and I think this game is only going to keep the undead around longer and with a brighter future.

BEES
Overview
Now this was an interesting project! An already existing social map application that needed a new website, but the application had some real character to work with.
I really wanted to show the application within it's true environment, so I actually produced some 3D renders of the leading phone model to use around the website. The strong Bee element I used throughout the theme of the website, from a simple background, through to the large buttons for the information slider.
The website was also made responsive so that it formatted more efficiently on mobile devices, making it easier to navigate while out on the move.
This was a project I really enjoyed working on and being a part of.

Pod Odyssey
Overview
Coffee Pot Labs got in touch with me to produce a website to promote an upcoming space based game. Initially I had only seen the early artwork of the in-progress application, but this was enough to get me intrigued about the game, and excited about working on the project.
We wanted the website to be a bit different from the norm and to really capture a feel that would work with the game. The website evolved into a automatically navigating site that when the visitor works their way through the menu items the page will scroll through space to the relevant sections.
I really enjoyed putting my thinking cap on for this build, and was very happy to see the game launch to great reviews. Be sure to check out Pod Odyssey in the app store now!

Vigilant Studios
Overview
Vigilant Studios approached me to build a website to replace a flash site that they had in place at the time. They're an exciting up and coming mobile game developer, and they wanted a website that they could be used as a platform to promote their current and upcoming applications.
Wordpress was used for the build as it was required that the website would incorperate a blog, and also be easy to update. The final build allows Vigilant Studios to fully control all aspects of the website, from adding games to keeping their fan base up to date with the latest information on their new projects.
This was a really enjoyable project to work on, and it was a refreshing change to be asked to produce a dark, and slick looking website.
I'm looking forward to Vigilant Studio's future games, . . . as I've had a sneak peak.

FlickEm
Overview
This was a great web design project for an iPhone app to be released in February. Once I got an early look at the graphical style for the application I knew of a direction I wanted to head in terms of the design.
The website was to showcase 3 versions of the game, with a video trailer, screenshots, main game information, reviews, and also have a latest news section to hold any new information about the app.
The app has strong primary colour use, so the website design was to compliment this, but not overpower it. The website itself is a very clean and sharp design, with a layout designed to deliver the application's information clearly to the visitor.
I'm really looking forward to the release of FlickEm, so I can finally get my hands on the app I've made a home for on the web.

Jingle Monster
Overview
A big and exciting project! A Jingle Monster website was already in place, but it was time for a brand new look and direction. The Website itself had to be built on wordpress so that it could all be easily updated when required.
Branding of the new Jingle Monster and logo was the first step of the project, some sketches were produced, and then when we got to a direction that was on the right path the character was further developed to what you see now. He has carried across some elements from his former self, but seems to like his new skin.
The design was based around music sheets, and had a colour scheme to suit; this really helped our new Jingle Monster standout in his new home and totally was in theme with the website content.
The music player was a very important aspect of the website, being both easy to update, but also themed to the Jingle Monster style. This was a great site to design, I had a lot of creative freedom, and feel this really benefited the final outcome.
I look forward to seeing Jingle Monster grow over the coming year with the use of the new website.

Zombie Farm
Overview
The Playforge approached me about producing a website for their massively popular iPhone application, the prospect of this job was very exciting and one I could wait to get started on.
We really wanted to capture the feel of the game, with the zombies playing a massive part of this. One the home page I came up with the idea of having a different zombie randomly appearing on page load, this worked a treat.
The project also involved recreating some new vectors from the small in-game graphics, this is quite a time consuming process so I shared the load with a fellow Uni friend and talented designer/illustator, Greg Terry. The vectors were used within both the site design and are ready for future use.
This was an great project to work on, and the site developed and grew from its initial sketches to the final design you see today. Hopefully I will have the pleasure of many more jobs for The Playforge.
Client Feedback
"Working with Rob was a lot like hitting the lotto. There are tons of website designers out there you never know what your gonna get. With Rob, he seemed to magically hit everything right. Almost like he can read your mind!
This is a guy who without a doubt, definitely knows what he's doing. Makes me wish I had another product ready just so I can have him make me another website."

Halfbrick
Overview
After completing the 'Fruit Ninja' website for Halfbrick I was approached by them to take on the rebuild of their main company website.
This was a very exciting prospect as their website was going to be the biggest build I'd undertaken so far as it was to be wordpress based for the blog aspect of the web build, and also because the company have recently become really well known through two highly successful iPhone applications, 'Fruit Ninja', and recently released 'Monster Dash'.
The Initial layout design went through a few variations before a direction was reached, but from then on it was all about getting the website built and ready for a launch on 31st of August. The final week was spent refining and making sure we were ready to go, and then all on time the website went live.
This was an extremely satisfying project to work on, and hopefully the second of many for Halfbrick.

Injury Therapist
Overview
Injury Therapist approached me to design a new website for them, originally their current branding was going to be used, but after discussion it was decided to give the company a complete facelift for something far fresher and more inline with the image they wanted to portray.
The Logo was created from a combination of the 'I' and the 'T' of Injury Therapist, and uses free flowing lines to express the freedom that having a healthly body can give.
The website's concept was to be very clean looking, and get across the message of health. A slider is used on the main page to deliver 3/4 messages to website visitor as they first arrive at the site and then more indepth information of the Injury Therapist's services are delivered on the additional site pages.
Client Feedback
"Many thanks for designing my buisness website. I am very impressed with the design, and many people have commented on the professionalism and efficiency of the website layout, thereby serving the purpose of accessibility.
I will be promoting the website and in doing so will emphasis the quality of service provided by R and P designs.
Once again, Thankyou for all your hard work on the website."

Hera Beauty Clinic
Overview
Hera Beauty Clinic had recently relocated and they required a website to be up and running in quite a small timescale, the total project time for this build was 2 weeks. This incorperated a couple of photoshoots of the new clinic to help promote the business and the treatments they offer.
Initially a couple of designs were created, and then from here a few colour and layout variations on the decided direction. jQuery was used to create a subtle fading effect to the treatments section of the website, and the contact form was also formatted with some more advanced styling techniques to keep in fitting with the feel of the website.
Client Feedback
" I'd Like to say thanks for the Great job Rob did in building the website for my Beauty Clinic, its impressive and very professional, its exactly what I was hoping for.
I needed the website fairly quickly as I had relocated to Medway City Estate, thanks to Rob for acting so promptly, and its another great tool to add to the business. "

Unique Kickboxing
Overview
Unique Kickboxing originally had their first website built by myself in early 2009, but over the following year the company moved forward and grew, and they asked for their website to be redesigned/upgraded to suit at the start of 2010.
Rather than ammending the original fixed layout, it was decided that we would rebuild the website from the ground up, and it was to be ready for any further expansion of the company as they continue to build up their reputation and clientele.
The main plan was for the website was to deliver clear information about classes and what Unique Kickboxing have to offer; to both current and potential new clients. It was to be able display fighter profiles, and house an ever increasing gallery of photos taken at regular events.
Client Feedback
" From start to finish Rob delivered fresh ideas and have really helped me push my company forward.
I will be continuing my working relationship for hopefully many successful years to come. "

Bin Masters
Overview
Bin Masters are a local company who had a website, but were never quite happy with it. They wanted a fresher more modern website, with a friendly feel.
Early on in the build it was decided that they would like themselves represented on the website in the form of cartoon characters, this process took a few design directions on route to the final characters, but we finally reached the look you see now that everyone was happy with
To get some more up to date pictures on the new website of the work that Bin Masters carry out, a few photoshoot were also done as part of this project.
Client Feedback
" We originally had Rob recommended to us by a friend as our website was in dire need of a re-design. After looking at one of his web designs that was already up and running, we arranged a meeting with him.
Our initial meeting was relaxed and informal, however, he provided us with some much needed incite into what the website redesign would involve and discussed our initial options. After deciding what we would like our website to look like and contain, Rob suggested some website layouts and we picked our favourite.
After adding our content and completing some of the finer details, we had a professional and fully functional website to boast about! Throughout the whole build, Rob was always reliable and easygoing, making it a very enjoyable process. His patience was very much appreciated as we had quite a few people to keep happy our end!
Bin Masters would recommend Rob in a heartbeat and wishes him all the best with his future projects."
